Who is this activist?
Kelsey Juliana was born in 1996 in Oregon. Her parents both wanted to help the world in many ways. Kelsey did the same and helped fight for the earth. (Not in the same exact same way her parents did.)
What is Kelsey Juliana fighting for?
Kelsey is fighting for climate change awareness. Climate change is: A change in global or regional climate patterns. She is fighting for it because she wants to protect the world for our generation, our friends generation, and our future generations. Climate change is going on today. A lot of animals on the coast of Oregon have died from climate change. (Mostly starfish.)
What makes her special or unique?
Her first rally was when she was 2 months old!!! She was fighting for it in court at age 15!!! Even though she was called mean names such as “Nature Girl,” she kept fighting because she knew that this problem needed to be heard about. Even the first judge said no to it but that did not stop her. She was going to win. And she did. “It just takes one brave judge to make a difference.” One judge did make a difference and said yes!!!
