Teen Activism Information Essay
Teen activists work to make the world a better place. This work does not come easy. There are many characteristics of activists such as: To be an activist you have to be loyal about the cause, you have to be willing to take risks (Be brave), and you have to keep going (You need to know that you will not finish fast).
To be an activist you have to be loyal about the cause. If you give up you will not accomplish anything. Many activists might face death and other threats but you have to put those threats in the back of your head if you want to make a difference. Malala a girl who was fighting for women's rights in education knew that she was facing death but she put that in the back of her head and kept fighting for what matters, and it worked. I am sure that many activist do not succeed but without trying they will never have been able to try to make that difference. Therefore, you must have to want to make a difference to make a difference.
Activist have to be willing to take risks (Be Brave). For example Malala knew that the Taliban were targeting her, but she did not give up because she wanted to make a difference. Child labor is when a child is forced to work at a very young age against their will. According to UNICEF, an estimated 150 million children worldwide are engaged in child labour. Craig Kielburger another teen activist knew that Iqbal died from fighting for child labour, that did not stop Craig that inspired him to make a difference and finish what Iqbal started. On the other hand, some activist might not succeed but that is just what happens. This shows that taking risks is the name of the game.
Activist keep going (They need to know that they won’t finish fast). just because you are interested in the cause does not mean you will finish fast. Most activists projects take a long time. Malala was shot but that did not stop her from finishing what she started, two years later!!! Iqbal died from fighting for child labour. His story spread around the world and lead to Craig Kielburger who wanted to finish what Iqbal started. (Craig’s organization still goes on today 20 years after Iqbal’s death.) As a result, activist projects take a long time and take a lot of work.
